Climate Crisis and Our Children

In 2020, Earth's average surface temperature was 0.98-Celsius degrees warmer than the 20th-century average. Children are severely affected by climate change and they are the least empowered to transition in a world facing climate migration, extreme weather patterns, climate shocks, and a transitioning climate economy.

Environment impacted children.

UNICEF’s Children’s Climate Risk Index reveals that 1 billion children are at ‘extremely high risk’ of the impacts of climate change. That is nearly half of all children.

Our Mission is to empower 1 million children by 2030 for climate adaptation and action through Climate Education.

"The Earth is a fine place and worth fighting for."

“Twenty-five years ago people could be excused for not knowing much, or doing much, about climate change. Today we have no excuse.“

What we Do ?

ElemenTree Education works towards providing climate education to our children. We aim to provide accurate and locally contextualized climate education to children. Climate education has been recognized globally as a strategy for increasing the knowledge, skills, and capacity of primary and secondary school children to adapt to or mitigate climate change. Our solution includes:

  1. Creating locally contextualized climate education content.

  2. Deliver to children through our programs and classroom engagements.

  3. Empower educators to deliver climate education in their schools through capacity-building workshops.

Climate Change Education

We work closely with students to implement a Climate Literacy Programme designed using games, quizzes, drama and case studies. The objective is to spread awareness about climate change, observe the changes around and understand its impact on ecosystems and biodiversity. We integrate themes of biodiversity, waste, water and energy in context to local need.

Our capacity-building programs for educators help them to take climate education to classrooms.

Climate Leadership

Climate leadership is an Awareness to Action initiative to empower children for climate adaptation and action through climate education. It is integrated as part of our climate education curriculum to provide experiential learning to the child to design localized solutions.
